Cha Cuñada to bolster Cignal's roster as PVL title bid resumes

Cignal unveiled the arrival of NCAA Season 98 Women’s Beach Volleyball MVP and former Chery Tiggo Crossovers’ outside hitter Cha Cuñada midway through the 2024-25 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference.

The HD Spikers announced the development on Monday, January 20, in a social media post.

“Awesome Nation is ready to build a bigger, better Cignal women’s volleyball team in 2025 as Cha Cuñada joins us ahead of our first game back at the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference,” the post wrote.

The addition of Cuñada marks the first of many changes that will occur as the Cignal HD Spikers attempt to bolster and rebuild their lineup after key players Ces Molina and Riri Meneses decided not to extend their contracts.

Head coach Shaq delos Santos will now have to rely on his five available spikers in Cuñada, Vanie Gandler, Jov Fernandez, Judith Abil, and rookie Ishie Lalongisip as they look to improve their current 4-1 record.

With Cuñada on board, the team is excited to begin a new chapter and make a strong impression in the competition.

The Cignal HD Spikers will begin their campaign on Tuesday, January 21, as they face off against the resilient and hungry Galeries Tower Highrisers at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.
