Risa Sato hails a ride with the Chery Tiggo Crossovers in PVL
Risa Sato changed career lanes in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL), joining the Chery Tiggo Crossovers in the remainder of the All-Filipino Conference after her departure from Creamline in November of last year.
Chery Tiggo announced the development in a social media post on Wednesday, January 15, welcoming the Filipino-Japanese middle blocker.
The Crossovers posted a picture of Sato wearing a Chery Tiggo uniform along with the words, “Yōkoso Risa-san! To our newest addition to our growing family, welcome! Your skills and energy are a game-changer and we can’t wait to have you on the court with us.”
The 30-year-old has 12 PVL titles under her belt, including 10 wins with Creamline, the league’s winningest team that completed a Grand Slam last year.
Sato will be reunited with her National University teammates, including Jennifer Nierva, Cess Robles, Jasmine Nabor, Joyme Cagande, and coach Norman Miguel, along with new teammates Ara Galang, Aby Maraño, Shaya Adorador, and Pauline Gaston.
The Crossovers are currently ranked fourth place with a 4-2 record in the 12-team field.
