Balucating finishes 28th in junior figure skating grand prix

Hayden Isabel Balucating finished 28th place in the junior women’s discipline of the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating 2024 held in Wuxi, China.

The 16-year-old Filipina figure skater from Quezon City scored a season-high 90.40 points.

Balucating received 33.28 points for finishing 24th in the short program and 57.12 points for placing 28th in the free skating competition.

With an impressive score of 204.88 points, Japanese competitor Ami Nakai bagged the gold medal. South Korean Yuseong Kim came in second with 192.23 points, while Yihan Wang from China won the bronze medal with 192.11 points.

Last year, the young Filipina bagged the gold medal after ruling the junior division of the 2023 Los Angeles Open Championships, amassing a total score of 108.47 points.
