Bella Belen announces retainment with NU in second straight title
Bella Belen has made her fourth year of eligibility for National University official as she expressed her intention to win a third UAAP championship next year in the Season 87 women’s volleyball tournament.
The two-time MVP confirmed on Tuesday that she will be playing her fourth year of eligibility with National University in its UAAP Season 87 women's volleyball title defense next year.
The newly-named Alas Pilipinas spiker announced her decision in an Instagram post with a caption "Redemption complete," alluding to Lady Bulldogs championship run in Season 86 following their unsuccessful title defense in Season 85, losing to La Salle.
"We are not yet done. Time to make it two in a row! See you all next season," added Belen.
Belen, also a two-time 1st Best Outside Spiker, could have easily been within top three in the Premier Volleyball League's (PVL) first-ever Rookie Draft set on July 8 at Novotel.
Belen's running mate Alyssa Solomon, a two-time Best Opposite Spiker and last season's Finals MVP, has yet to announce her decision, though.
Belen and Solomon are members of the Alas Pilipinas pool for the 2024 Challenger Cup slated from July 4 to 7 here in Manila.
