Filipina racer Bianca Bustamante is set to make her Formula E debut next month when she competes in the inaugural World Championship Women's Test.

Bustamante, who is presently seventh in the F1 Academy rankings, will join fellow McLaren Development Driver Ella Lloyd under the NEOM McLaren Formula E Team to operate the new GEN3 Evo race car.

Though this will be her first time behind the wheel, the 19-year-old Filipina has been practicing her skills through the simulator heading into the test.

“I’ve already been honing my skills in the simulator, and working with the team so I can extract the most from this opportunity as I can. I’m really looking forward to it,” said Bustamante.

Other F1 Academy drivers from the Andretti Formula E Team, such as Chloe Chambers and Nerea Marti, will take part in the first-ever Women's Test. Each World Championship team is required to field at least one female driver for the test.

Prior to her Formula E debut, Bustamante will also be racing in Round 7 of the Italian F4 Championship at Monza on October 25 to 27. She is aiming to break out of a personal plunge where she has failed to score points in her races over the last two months.

Bustamante will make history in racing and transportation technology on November 7, 2024 at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Valencia, Spain.
