Camille Clarin's outstanding performance in the UAAP Season 87 women's basketball competition set the tone for National University's dominance.

In addition to keeping the Lady Bulldogs undefeated, Clarin’s efforts won her the Philippine Sports Commission’s (PSC) Collegiate Press Corps (CPC) UAAP Women’s Player of the Week award for the week of November 3-10.

As NU enters the last stages of the preliminary round, her leadership has been crucial as she helped the Lady Bulldogs to a flawless 12-0 slate.

The 5-foot-10 guard posted an average of 15.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 1.3 steals over the week, including her standout performance in NU’s 76-70 over archrival University of Santo Tomas.

Clarin finished with 21 points (18 in the first half), seven rebounds, four assists, one steal, and one block against the Growling Tigresses.

With a unanimous vote, Clarin prevailed over notable candidates including Sarah Makanjuola of Ateneo, Kyla Sunga of De La Salle University, and Tacky Tacatac of UST.

“I take big responsibility in being the captain. I know a lot of these girls look up to me. Not necessarily to score but just to lead the team, to keep us level-headed the whole game. So, I take that responsibility very highly," said Clarin.

"And I know that even if I’m struggling, they have my back, so I gotta make sure I do that for them as well," she added.
