Cherry Nunag replaces Jema Galanza as Alas libero in Challenger Cup
A last-minute change has been made for Alas Pilipinas two days before the 2024 FIVB Women’s Volleyball Challenger Cup opener against Vietnam at Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
After initially being listed as libero, Jema Galanza is back to her original position as an outside spiker. The roster alterations were confirmed by Alas Pilipinas coach Jorge Souza De Brito on Wednesday afternoon.
The development was made after Galanza suffered a minor foot injury during their preparation. However, in a surprise move, 5-foot-11 middle blocker, Cherry Nunag will be the nationals' second libero alongside multi-awarded veteran floor general Dawn Macandili-Catindig.
The official FIVB website has already reflected these positional changes as of posting time.
