Gel Cayuna led the Cignal HD Spikers to their third consecutive victory after overcoming a third-set setback against Choco Mucho in the 2024-25 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference at the Philsports Arena in Pasig on Thursday, November 28.

Cayuna powered the HD Spikers past Flying Titans, registering 16 excellent sets while also producing 11 points in addition to three aces.

Following their four-set victory over Chery Tiggo last week, in which Cayuna recorded nine points on top of 20 excellent sets, Cignal head coach Shaq Delos Santos claimed that the four-time PVL Best Setter's decision-making made her a scoring threat in their previous matches.

"When it comes to a situation like this, she knows what to do. Maybe the maturity as well, the one she improves every conference, and then the training, and then just the ideas that we give, maybe everything will come together there," said Delos Santos, who has been mentoring Cayuna since college.

"And the good thing is that our whole team has a good response to all the hardships we went through."

The 26-year-old playmaker’s composure was crucial in the fourth set as Cignal fend off a late Choco Mucho surge to secure the victory.

Four other HD spikers tallied double-digit scoring thanks to Cayuna’s precision.

Middle blocker Jackie Acuña top scored for the HD Spikers with 14 points, five of which came as blocks. Ces Molina chipped in 11 markers, while Vanie Gandler and Riri Meneses scattered 10 apiece.

Carrying a 3-0 win-loss slate, Cignal heads to Cebu to take on the Nxled Chameleons on Saturday, December 7.
