Sam Harada promises Gilas Women won't quit, seeks better showing in FIBA 3x3 Wuhan tilt

Gilas Pilipinas Women seeks stronger finish in FIBA 3x3 Wuhan tilt

Sam Harada assured fans that Gilas Women has no plans of quitting as the team proudly represents the country in the FIBA 3x3 Women's Series despite not gaining the results that they wanted.

The Philippine team struggled to advance past group stages after reaching the quarterfinals in its debut in the Ulaanbaatar stop making them stumble on their next campaigns in Clermont-Ferrand and Orleans, France.

The Gilas Women 3x3 are leaving their losses in the past as they strive to perform better in Wuhan this weekend.

"What we experienced was indeed an eye-opener because the level of competition that we faced during that time was on a world-class level," said Harada, who played together with Kaye Pingol, Hazelle Yam, and Allana Lim in those first three stops through the efforts of the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) and Uratex Dream.

Harada also added that they have lots of areas to improve. From individual skills, strengths, discipline and patience. Filipinos are short in stature and to combat that we need to learn how to fight against taller teams.

“We will not give and we will show how Filipinos play beautiful basketball.”

The Philippines is grouped with Thailand, Taipei Absolute and China. The games will tip off on Saturday afternoon.
