Women’s Run PH records 6k female attendees
Over 6,000 women participated in the 2024 Women’s Run PH on Sunday, October 20, at the University of the Philippines Diliman Campus in celebration of World Osteoporosis Day.
The event organized by RUNRIO drew a huge field of female runners, which is a big leap from last year’s first edition that only drew 1,700 runners.
"What's nice about this event is we get to celebrate and empower each other," said Women's Run PH founder and CEO Nicole dela Cruz.
Kristine Santillan ruled the 10K race clocking in 47 minutes and 45 seconds. Followed by Ma. Isabelita Remedios Teano with a time of 48 minutes and 59 seconds, while Arielle Chantal Guado completed the top three with 51 minutes and 54 seconds.
"We're here to promote health and wellness for the women, and we're also happy to see here men supporting women. I'm hoping that next year, we’re about to get bigger and bigger," added dela Cruz.
On the other hand, Criselda del Rosario registered the fastest time in 5K with 23 minutes and 29 seconds, followed by Paula Vinia Tuazon with 23 minutes and 48 seconds, and Beverly Manansala with a time of 24 minutes and 06 seconds.
The podium finishers for the 1K run were Joyce Ann Valdez (5:04), Akira Peroque (6:00), and Kathryn Panlillo (6:03).
The Women’s Run PH will hold its second event for the year in Iloilo at Megaworld Boulevard on November 10.
The event was co-presented by Anlene and has partnered with PGH Cancer Survivor’s Organization in celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
