ZUS Coffee clinches PVL Playoff spot, Nxled finishes strong

ZUS Coffee secured a historic quarterfinal berth, while Nxled wrapped up its campaign with a dominant win as both teams closed out their Play-In tournament matches in the 2024-25 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference.

Chai Troncoso and Thea Gagate led the charge for the Thunderbelles, combining for 28 points to propel ZUS Coffee past the Capital1 Solar Spikers in a four-set victory, 25-22, 25-17, 18-25, 25-17.

Troncoso delivered 15 markers, including 12 attacks, two blocks, and an ace, while also recording 17 excellent receptions. Gagate added 13 points, highlighted by four blocks.

With the win, ZUS Coffee finished the Play-In tournament with a 2-0 record, clinching the last quarterfinal slot and eliminating both Capital1 and Cignal in the process.

The Thunderbelles now brace for a tough best-of-three quarterfinal series against the second-seeded Petro Gazz Angels.

Meanwhile, Nxled ended its PVL campaign in style, sweeping a shorthanded Farm Fresh squad, 25-17, 25-17, 25-18, in its final match of the play-in tournament.

Defense played a crucial role in the Chameleons’ victory, with libero Rachel Jorvina anchoring the floor. She recorded 20 excellent digs, ensuring the Foxies struggled to find momentum.
